Elizabeth Holmes Documentary to Feature at New York Film Festival

A new documentary, 'You Can See Everything,' chronicling the life and legal challenges of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, has secured a slot in the prestigious New York Film Festival's Spotlight category. This film, a joint effort by directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, offers an intimate look into Holmes's life, capturing her narrative in the period leading up to her imprisonment and continuing through her incarceration.

The film, produced by A24, had its initial screening as a surprise premiere at the Telluride Film Festival. Its inclusion in the New York Film Festival's 64th edition further solidifies its prominence. Both Fielder and Oppenheim are anticipated to be present at Alice Tully Hall for the New York debut, scheduled within the festival's run from September 25 to October 12.

Over a span of four years, the filmmakers secretly worked on this project, aiming to provide Holmes a platform to share her perspective. The documentary features candid interviews with Holmes, who maintained her innocence alongside her partner, Billy Evans, as cameras recorded her personal account from her home.

Beyond 'You Can See Everything,' the New York Film Festival's Spotlight series is set to feature a diverse array of cinematic works. Notable selections include Jordan Firstman's 'Club Kid,' Jesse Eisenberg's latest musical 'The Debut,' Cristian Mungiu's Palme d'Or-winning 'Fjord' starring Renate Reinsve and Sebastian Stan, and Noah Segan’s 'The Only Living Pickpocket in New York.' Veteran director Werner Herzog also makes a return with 'Bucking Fastard,' premiering after its Venice debut. Other films to be screened are Maiken Baird’s 'Edward Said: Between Worlds,' Eleanor Coppola’s 'Making Marie Antoinette,' Jonathan Glazer’s 'Joy of Joys,' and Albert Serra’s 'Sixteen Moments of My Life.'

The festival will also host the global premiere of 'Godzilla Minus Zero' as its Spotlight gala presentation, adding a blockbuster element to the esteemed lineup.

This documentary delves into the multifaceted story of Elizabeth Holmes, providing an unvarnished view of her defense and personal reflections amid a period of significant public scrutiny and legal consequence.
